Turkey & Quinoa Bowl
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
- 1 cup quinoa (dry)
- 1 cup chopped green beans (fresh or frozen)
- 1 medium carrot, diced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Rinse quinoa thoroughly under cold water to remove saponins.
- In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil, add quinoa, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes until water is absorbed.
- While quinoa cooks, brown the ground turkey in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it into small crumbles, about 8–10 minutes until fully cooked with no pink remaining.
- Add diced carrots and chopped green beans to the skillet with the turkey and cook for 5 minutes until vegetables are tender.
- Stir in olive oil and remove from heat.
- Fold the cooked quinoa into the turkey and vegetable mixture.
- Allow the entire mixture to cool completely to room temperature (approximately 30 minutes) before adding blueberries.
- Mix gently to distribute blueberries without crushing them.
- Portion into airtight containers and refrigerate or freeze as directed below.

🧊 Safety & Storage
Refrigerate portions in airtight containers for up to 4 days. Freeze individual portions in freezer-safe containers for up to 3 months. Thaw frozen portions overnight in the refrigerator, never at room temperature. Always serve at room temperature or slightly warm—never hot. Discard any uneaten food after 2 hours at room temperature. Wash hands and all surfaces thoroughly after handling. Consult your veterinarian before switching to 100% homemade diet.
⚠️ Recipe Drift Warning
Do not substitute ground beef for turkey without adjusting portions—higher fat content will significantly alter caloric density and compromise weight management goals. Do not replace quinoa with white rice, which has lower protein and higher glycemic impact. Avoid adding extra oil or butter. Never use onion, garlic, grapes, raisins, macadamia nuts, or xylitol-containing ingredients. If using a different protein source, recalculate calcium supplementation needs as organ meats and bone-in options alter mineral balance.
