Ingredients

  • 1 can (5 oz) tuna in water, drained
  • 1 can (3.75 oz) sardines in water, drained
  • 2 tablespoons cooked pumpkin puree (plain, not pie filling)
  • 1 large egg, hard-boiled and finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon taurine powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon iodized salt (optional)
  • 1/4 cup water (from tuna/sardine cans or fresh)

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Drain the tuna and sardines, reserving some liquid.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine tuna, sardines, and hard-boiled egg. Mash thoroughly with a fork until a uniform pate consistency forms.
  3. Add pumpkin puree, sunflower oil, taurine powder, and salt (if using). Mix well.
  4. Gradually add reserved fish water or fresh water to achieve desired moisture level.
  5. Portion into daily servings and store appropriately.
